I installed the plugin, but it doesn’t appear to be showing up on my site. I am in the midst of updating my blog, and so the “under contstruction feature is on”. If you plan to take a look at the site, can you email me and let me know so I can disable that and let you take a look?

I believe I’ve already responded to you once in regards to this matter… but at any rate, if you would simply update the damn plugin you wouldn’t have to worry about it anymore. I’ve removed any and all API requests from the plugin. So that means no more update reminders, no more plugin stats, etc etc etc…

Be happy. Direct your irritation to the countless other plugin developers who place alerts outside the plugin options page now.

And please, pretty please. Stop placing the update notes all over Wordpress’ Admin area.
It’s a plugin, for crying out loud. Not the core operating system. It annoys the heck out of users!

Yes, 2.5.3 is the last version in which we were using the more “old school” methods of retrieving data… Hopefully we’ll have the bugs fixed the next go around, but if not, we’ll probably wind up reverting back to using those older methods just for stability’s sake.

After testing more than 5 versions of SexyBookmarks on http://touchreviews.net I’ve found Version 2.5.3 working on my site. The other versions would either break the sidebars, footer or in some case cause conflict with Disqus plugin.

But I am happy to have SexyBookmarks plugin finally working even though it is version 2.5.3 :)

Sorry but I dont really know what shared hosting is, I have the economy hosting plan for wordpress blogs from godaddy.

Are you using shared hosting? If so, they may have your domain throttled back a bit… You may ask your hosting provider what kind of timeout limits they’ve got set in the PHP.INI settings.
